Your photograph was easy enough to find on the Web with Penn.  How  virtual are
you?

Well, you make an assumption here. How do you know the image I use on that site
is "my real picture"? What if it was taken 15 years ago? 25? What if I told you
I had once been female and underwent gender altering surgery? What if it is not
my body at all? And the bigger question... does it matter?

And, I'd also ask, in what way does seeing (what you think is) the corporeal
body "Arlo" inhabits give you any further insight into "who Arlo is"? "Arlo" is
the person you know here, the personae that exists "between us". This "Arlo" is
likely different from the Arlo-personae that exists between others. 

There are people who know me exclusively as "Jim", who do not even know that on
my birth certificate is penned "Arlo". Do they not know "my real name"? Is the
person they know "less real"?
