[Ron] I think I have more problems with masks being placed on me. [Arlo] As you should be.
[Ron] I'm a real stickler for being naked, myself. [Arlo] I hear they have beaches in Europe for people like you. :-) [Ron] Perhaps the "mask" I wear is the one that's fused to my values. It's not pretty but it's all I have. took years to craft., still working on it actually. [Arlo] We are wear a multitude of masks. Many are threaded with a line of continuity, and often it is this "continuity" we seek as evidence of a "real self". Whether we seek this as a name (all my selves go by the name "Harvey", for example), or the boundedness of our corporeal host (my real self is whatever my body looks like), or, as you suggest here, a thread of continuous values (all my selves are "honest", or "kind", or "intolerant of wing-nut morons who think videogames are responsible for violence") that runs through the various "selves" we inhabit. [Ron] this is a very interesting topic, I'm glad it came up. thanks Jimarlo [Arlo] Although I love the Hispanic flair in this, my other selves would feel excluded to see privilege being given to just these two. By the way, sorry I had to be short on the phone, was in a meeting. But it was good to hear a "voice" behind the "words".
