Marsha, I almost respnded too , but was going to pick-up on the "kill" statements rather than the "follow" question ...
Both are problematic taken in isolation (as mel says). My point was that the kill (completely kill) is about the (static) patterns not about the intellect. And the "completely" is only in the context of the instruction to follow dynamic quality ... like Prsig is not denying the (positive) static latching value of static patterns only their (negative) constraining value.
