[Carig]
Suppose an employer (not a capitalist) hires workers at $6/hr & employs them on a project that pays him $7/hr/worker. From his profits he buys machines
(= capital) for the workers to use. As the workers are more skilled,
he raises their pay to $8/hr. & because they are much more productive,
he can charge $12/hr//worker.
So the capitalist splits his profit with the workers.

Why on earth would he do that [raise their pay] if he can keep all the profit to himself? All he needs to do is to pay enough for the worker to stay, and perhaps survive. So the only reason that he would pay them more were if some other capitalist for some reason felt like paying more then he had to and were willing to employ.

thell me that, then we can continue.
