Arlo,

You question is patently absurd - representing the most ridiculous extreme
possible, and my question was to ascertain your basic position on human
morality. Which is the polar opposite of mine. You have a choice to either;
assume humans are basically good or basically evil. Why do you choose the
latter? It is your choice. What are you telling me about yourself? Of course
you can trust me with nuclear weapons - I have no desire to possess them.
Lust of power is a social quality I do not have. Freedom is the quality I
desire. Remember, freedom does not mean anarchy, they are two different
terms - they're even spelled differently.

If you somehow equate "COPS" with reality I worry for you. Reality is yours
to make for yourself, mine doesn't involve control through the use of fear,
so I can only see your question as absurd. Nor do I feel the need to draw
imaginary "lines" for others. I'm busy enough with my own life.

By the way, in my adult life, I have always felt safe. I guess I'm lucky.

[Micah]
Would you own any of these weapons, if you could? If yes, please explain
why. If no - please explain why you think others would want too?

[Arlo]
In the same post you ignore my question. I reask.

Do you favor allowing any and all military grade weapons, from tanks to
sidewinder missiles, to be sold freely to civilians? Do you draw no line?
What
about nuclear weapons?

To answer your question, no I would not own any of these weapons. Reason, I
would not trust myself with them. And, no, Micah, I would not trust you with
a
key to a nuclear arsenal either. Moreso, I can't think of a single benefit
that
would arise from my arming my home with surface to air missile batteries and
a
few tomahawk launchers. I trust our military to protect us from threats of
that
caliber. Its why we fund a military. Its why its a volunteer force. Would
you
feel safer in a world where anyone could stop off at BoxMart, pick up a few
sidewinders, and drive home in a loaded Abrams tank?

You think the show COPS is wild now...

But let me ask again. Do you draw a line? Nuclear weapons? What tonnage
bomb?
500 tons? 10 tons? Surface to air missiles? Flamethrowers? Or no line at
all...
let everyone have a nuclear bomb and see where we go from there?
