I'd echo what Krimel said. It seems pretty clear to me that Bo's attitude is
"overtly anti-Semitic", a form of "cultural chauvinism one expects to hear from
Platt and Ham". The very idea of "Jewish imperviousness to the intellect" is
not only offensive, it is absurd. Marx, Freud, Einstein, Oppenheimer, Bergson,
Spinoza, not to mention Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and thousands of other
examples, speak to the creativity and intellectual prowess of the Jewish
people. One could make a case that theirs is the most intellectual culture on
Earth. The connections between anti-Semitism and anti-intellectualism has a
very interesting history, in fact. Bo's "anti-Muslim ranting" might be a little
more fashionable these days but it is just as prejudiced. Sometimes I wish
there was a way of filtering out this stuff. It is embarrassing. And its very
far from philosophical thought. dmb
