I am so steeped (as in tea of a different flavor) in the emptiness of
patterns that it comes quickly to mind. It's quite possible that I
will still push the wisdom aside, but it's gained in strength and has
become quite insistent. And while my definition of self may be
boring to tears, it does express the proper perspective.
Family is the toughest nut, but it is getting easier. After all
family members are mostly my own static patterns of value too. Of
course, my significant other is a 9 lb black poodle.

Marsha,
I use it for stratagizing and planning, designing it can be very useful in
aligning intent also. Useful. When it becomes a hinderance I let it fall
into the backround and focus on the now. I try to have it serve me instead
of me serving it. The problem is recognizing when it is a help or a
hinderance.

Hi Ron,
And isn't this the problem of many types patterns. So running on
automatic are these patterns that a fresh evaluation of an
experience/event is never considered. What was liberating for me was
to understand the nature of all patterns, and letting them take
second place importance whenever possible. When caught in a
difficult pattern-loop, it becomes easier to label it 'conceptually
constructed pattern', drop it, and move on for a more direct
experience. I find the sweeping dismissal works far better than
trying to combat every instance.
