It might be so the MD Discuss doesn't collapse to the left, Platt offers a counterbalance to the right. Does conservatism or liberalism mean any more than freedom?

Unless I have missed something, but, Arlo (for example) does not particularly present a 'leftist'/political point of view. He argues from a MoQ point of view, which is what we are here for. Platt's neo-con attitude is useful when seen in the context of the MoQ i.e. as a latching 'force' to hold on to dynamic gains made. But too much emphasis on holding on to the latched achievements, to the exclusion of further dynamic growth, opens the way to degeneracy. At least, this is the way I understand the MoQ. Static patterns do not change by themselves. They must be capable of being responsive to DQ. My impression of Platt's counterbalance is that he excludes/limits the dialogue by repeating, like a broken record, the virtues of capitalism over socialism and this nebulous cry of 'freedom'. I thought that the MoQ's 'freedom' is a moving away, a letting go of any 'ism'.
