It's all an analogy as you know, and Quality has always been, imo, an
analogy for the universal logic you are reaching for.
That is so sad to read, but I guess it reminds my why I don't spend so much time
here as I used to. In the beginning, Lila Squad as it was then called, was on a
quest to revolutionize science as we knew it. We were going to express the MoQ
in terms that science could use to remove the SOM obstacles they weren't even
aware of. We wanted to literally change the world.
But for some reason, more and more of those people left. I'm thinking first of
all of Doug Renselle, who's charts about a quantum level raised so much havoc he
felt he had to leave. Bo and others still refuse to add new levels, seemingly
based on fear of adding something they know nothing about. I would also be
reluctant to do that, but my knee jerk reaction is to learn *more* about it, not
to simply raise my nose in contempt.
And then there's this *analogy* issue. I cannot fathom how you can spend so much
time on discussing something you only think is make-believe. Any old SOM
scientist is on a better quest - qualitatively, morally and really!
But to end this on a far better note, thanks Mary for your binary world thought
experiment. It reminds me of the early days and a few "pesky" robots on Mars I
used to try to get to grips with the social level. Wildly unsuccessful with the
Squad I might add, but still the basis of how I think the social level should be
defined.
