Krimel, I'll post a fuller answer to your last post to me when I've had time to 
catch-up with all the recent posts about this issue (especially those from Mary 
and Steve Peterson) but, in the meantime, I can confirm that Julian Baggini
was free to ask Pirsig anything.  As far
as I remember the interview just came to a natural end.  Also, I better say 
that the interview material (being derived from around 20 e-mails) was edited 
by Baggini to give it flow so his question about evolution and SOM biologists 
wasn't necessarily the last one.
