but can't you just comment this single one from Mary's list.

Socrates is SOM's chief midwife, that much we agree on ... no? He
died "to establish the independence of intellectual patterns from their
social origins. In a MOQ context this becomes the intellectual level's
independence from the social level .... no? Here is nothing about
SOM's emergence from some other previous intellectual pattern(s) but
from society. Ergo SOM - all of it, every last bit - is Intellect.
In Descartes' case Pirsig does not explicitly mention SOM, but his
(Descartes') "Cogito ..." sentence is intellect's metamorphosis into its
subject/object stage so it's another proof that Pirsig originally meant
SOM to be equivalent to intellect . I just wonder how you explain this
away. Plus the most glaring proof of them all the proto-moq diagram
where SOM also is called "intellect".
