Your SOL is a private interpretation (of yours) just like any interpretation ... and the vast majority of us are promoting Pirsig, not alternative philosophers ... just trying to interpret and relate to real life and other mainstream philosophies. And Adrie is right about Gent-Terneuzen canal being where Nell was conceived. They had crossed the Atlantic a year and a winter before crossing to mainland Europe from anchorage at Falmouth, UK. (You'll have to enlighten me on the mediterranean voyage - passed me by ?)
