Dan and others, Ahhhh.... the blame game, is it bad policy or is it bad behavior that is at fault? Let's consider the bad behavior argument. Prior to the policy Bo's behavior has been annoying at best to a group of individuals even perhaps a majority of MD in regards to what been referred to Bo's pet idea. And for years the forum has "tolerated" his never ending, hmmm their have been so many negative adjectives given to Bo's behavior of persistence of his "pet" idea. My god how this forum has had to tolerate this man and his crazy ideas. Yes this forum has done what it has done so well for many years. Tolerate him! Oh by the way there are a few of us that appreciates his tenacity and even a few who would still takes bets that his "pet SOL idea" is right.
Note at this point, Horse, who is in the unfortunate position as website manager finds a intolerable behavior, specifically the "claiming that Pirsig himself is the rightful perveyer of this crazy notion that static intellect = SOM" a behavior that is "maliciously & mischievously" and that there is a growing sediment towards Bo on this point. Horse does what anybody in the same position would do, take the weekend to think about it. The problem is that Horse is put in a position to create what is unfortunate policy that is poorly developed and implemented. I can make that judgment base on being and Administrator that has dealt with policy development over the past 15 years. There are people who dedicate a lifetime to policy development for a good reason, it is far more difficult than it seems. Horse is a great guy who is a great manager of the website and in his heart of heart thought he was doing the right thing. Horse is still a great guy who I would gladly buy a cold one and shoot the breeze with. But even great guys can get sucker into a bad decision for the right reasons. If you think I am full of crap, take the policy to any policymaker that has nothing to with MD and get there "objective second opinion". Sorry Horse I know that all this attention is not your gig, life is a lesson that when you stop learning you are dead. Let MD do what it does best, tolerate Bo.
