I agree with Pirsig, SOM's fallacy is the primacy of subjects and
objects. And this is the notion that one can "step outside". I
understand now why the SOLists are so fixated on SOM, they are
forever trapped in its grasp.
If you think your endless ladder of "eyes" takes you out of SOM, then
you will forever remain trapped in SOM's view.
