Dan:

In the past, when Arlo and Platt engaged in endless bickering with
name-calling, insults, and just plain ignorance, I didn't even bother
reading their posts. None of them had any value to me at all.
Obviously it did to them as they kept it up for God knows how long.
But that isn't even debate. It is nonsense. Pure and simple.

And honestly Dave, you and Steve have been bordering upon that same
level with your recent posts condemning each other as slow-witted
weasels and idiotic morons.

Come on. Who wants to read that crap? The only reason I do so is on
account of the respect I have for you over the past dozen years. It is
my hope that, even though I have to wade through a cesspool of
diatribes, maybe I will find a gem or two of note.

Isn't it true that one of the biggest reasons for ditching the whole
idea of disinterested objectivity is that it leaves out one of the
most crucial factors, namely the feelings and attitudes? I think so.
And that means that heat and light go together.

Dan:

I think you are rationalizing a reason to be rude to others. And
believe me, I am as guilty as anyone of doing the same. Sometimes, I
feel compelled to do so. I just get so pissed off I can't stand it.
And peace, love, and understanding are the furthest things from my
mind.

I suppose we all do what we feel is best.

Thank you,

Dan
