Hi Joseph -

Sorry for the long delay in answering - am email swamped and had to let this thread languish.

Emotions are DQ only.

But they can leave SQ traces, I think, as in art-structures. And memory too. Isn't ZAMM a genuine *memoir*? Makes me think of Walter Pater: "To burn always with this hard, gem-like flame..." - Quite a thing he did there, making the flame hard and crystalline. Heraclitus would have a word with him.

I am not aware that the expressions for these passions will use DQ/SQ in the same way by each individual at an intellectual level.

I just can't help feel that at some other level, there has to be more of a fusion. The living moment surely has both, and more. In fact, the living moment came first. Maybe I'm coming at all of this from an inductive direction? I'm a naughty emo-Aristotelian, but I think it can all work out.

It takes a bit of self-study and a lot of practice to even be certain of what I am trying express, let alone whether I have chosen the right words.

Thanks for giving that look inside. Reminds me of the difficult I've talked to some folks who like Korzybski about - trying to speak in E-Prime.
