You are misreading Steve in your claim that Steve is misreading James.
All Steve was saying was what Ian just said--that in light of quantum
mechanics... "Most people these days would surely include the freedoms
of statistical chance events as part of the "determinism" half of this
debate ? (determinism with probabilities)"

"Chance" isn't the sort of freedom that anyone wants as "free will."
