Hi Matt, IMHO in a DQ/SQ form of metaphysics I face two problems: EVOLUTION and the MANIFESTATION of levels in existence. Pirsig describes a metaphysical DQ/SQ as order.
I used the word "acknowledge" instead of "recognize" to emphasize that two values "order" and "manifestation" are formulated differently. ORDER follows an evolutionary paradigm of x levels. MANIFESTAION follows a different paradigm of active, passive or neutral activity. In any case "acknowledge" is a throw-away word, and I did not know a word for being precise in the two directions at once, and I am open to suggestions like "conundrum".
