Hi Marsha,
I just so happen to be reading about that in a long introduction to the Tibetan 
 Book of the Dead, Liberation Through Understanding in the Between, by Robert 
Thurman.  The forward is by The Dalai Lama, if that means anything.  Buddhism 
can get very complicated, and reincarnation is a principle part of it.  So I am 
doing my best to comprehend it.
