This can be true for you, only you would know.  I am not sure what you
mean by focussing your attention.  What makes it unfocussed to begin
with?  Are you saying that it takes a certain education to see things
the way they really are?  If so, who's education would you follow?

This is what I see as a problem with religions.  That is, they purport
to have the right method for focussing.  However, how does this
explain the various differences between religions.  I would think that
if there was a correct way to focus, we would have figured that out
long ago.  As it stands, paying attention to the physical world is
indeed the easiest way to focus, and probably the best since it
persists.
