David to Dan:

That the experience is just some static quality which never really defines
reality or indeed what happened and what we experienced. That static quality
never really can capture Dynamic Quality or what we experienced. But here we
are. Writing. There's an entirely different quality to static quality. And
because I think the MOQ is the best, and the MOQ sees value in static patterns
as well as Dynamic Quality - I think that static quality exists and is
experienced.

Andre:
Hi Dan and David, I am thoroughly enjoying your exchange of ideas in this
thread and on the 'distinction' as David sees it, between static experience and
Dynamic (direct) experience. It is something I have been pondering over before
and especially since getting into your exchange. I have only cut and pasted
this quote for no specific reason.

Would it be 'safe' to suggest that static 'experience' stands for 'life' as we
'conventionally' are living it (as the Buddhists term it)... 'life' being,
within the MoQ, a static organic pattern of value, enhanced, for any life-form
capable of apprehending Dynamic Quality, through being open to DQ, meaning
'growth'?

This would make a lot of sense to me. Life, as we are all living it in our
ordinary every day living is just that. The narrator in ZMM saying that he
hasn't had a new idea in years. Thinking of Ray Davis' song 'A Well Respected
Man'. Life is our everyday work for the 'Giant', the administrative, rule bound
socially accepted way of doing and being.

This is a submission to the SOM perspective, a life in flatland, meaningless,
valueless, well, a time to think about euthanesia (as 160.000 elderly persons
in the Netherlands are contemplating!!...not necessarily wanting to act on it
but feeling 'safe' to have the option).

However, when the heart-attack or the storm or the cancer or a life threatening
situation comes (DQ) we are (temporarily) released (be it in greater or lesser
degrees) from the static and delivered to the dynamic. In SOM this may be seen
as the 'inevitable'...life threatening lahdidah.

In the MoQ it is seen as apprehending DQ and an opportunity to... .

Funny isn't it? Thank you gentlemen. For what it is worth.
