Hi Joe, In my opinion, DQ is used as part of MoQ, numbers are used as part of physics. Both can only be relationally defined. Both are the same principle, that is they seek to describe reality. All of these things are knowable, mathematics has an advantage in that it is taught in school as a reality. However, it is no more a reality than MoQ is. It is just more accepted. When we accept physics, we form an agreement. This is our choice, and we can choose not to. Unfortunately we will be labeled as insane and it will be difficult to function in a "sane" social environment. here is therefore great social pressure to accept physics. If the same pressure (from birth) were used to teach MoQ, that too would become an accepted reality, and we would not consider it to be somehow "outside". Pirsig has a few things to say about insanity and its relationship to the social level.
