No way; I'm not having Pirsig cramping my style on this Discussion Group with
me being the first person in the world with a PhD in the MOQ. Remember that Mr
Pirsig has only an honorary doctorate and that's from a 'Mickey Mouse' teaching
college that might like to call itself a university today (but, as anyone who
has visited this institution recently knows) is still the third rate teaching
college it always was.
Anyway, despite serious misgivings (primarily because it isn't a statue of me),
I have given MSC permission to install a gold plated full-size model of
Pirsig's '64 Superhawk outside Montana Hall. Now, when you travel up there on
your flash (if over-blown) Harley-Davidson, I hope you and the other
contributors on this Board will genuflect every time you pass this statue
saying the following incantation: "What is good Phaedrus and what is not good,
do we need anyone else tell us these things?". A security camera (connected
directly to the Pirsigs and my respective 15 homes) will be focused on the
statue 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (Yes, Mr Clever Clogs; a day isn't
exactly 24 hours and leap years have 366 days in them; I know), but the
important thing is that we will be watching you CAREFULLY (and especially YOU,
JOHN CARL) to make sure you genuflect respectfully low enough and say the ZMM
incantantion solemnly & clearly.

In other words (and I don't say this often TO ANYONE!), I really am absolutely
clueless by this particular question!
Otherwise, I'm glad to hear that you have at least made a start with a Royce
Discussion Group and that Bodvar has recently re-appeared 'on the scene'.
Finally, and this in reference to your your recent 'discussions' here, I don't
think anyone who has read ZMM carefully, is going to be much surprized with how
Dave Buchanan treats your MD posts. There is a character - not unlike Dave -
in ZMM called Phaedrus and I certainly couldn't see him - the honest
intellectual of the book - dealing with you much differently.
If you want people to be nice to you, start a charity.
