Actually the Bill of Rights is quite vague when it comes to addressing the 
right to bear arms.  And I'm pretty certain that it doesn't even address the 
individuals' right, only those associated with a "militia".  The actual 
"scope" of the amendment is debatable, vis a vis the actual intent of our 
Founding Fathers.  Gun rights advocates may very well stretch the actual 
intent of the amendment, but that's the way the game is played here.  Much 
like "freedom of speech", which was intended to allow for full political 
discourse, has been stretched by the "left" to mean that I have the absolute 
right to display fasified photos of somebody's mother having sex with a dog 
as long as I was not being "malicious".  I can only answer your queries with 
a question - Do you feel safe when you walk your neighborhood at night or lie 
down to sleep? - I personally don't, because of some individuals' propensity 
toward violent crime and robbery in my vicinity.  That's probably another 
issue, but my little .22 caliber certainly gives me greater peace of mind.
