Oh, I see. Instead of believing what the Independent says in its headline and
lead, I should go to the library and research the minutia of an issue like I'm
preparing a thesis before forming an opinion. Yeah, right.

Since when is it incumbent on a newspaper reader to read fully read every 
article?
Instead, it's the responsibility of responsible journalism to tell the facts 
from the headline and lead on.

Couldn't be much lower than the misleading headline and lead in the Independent
story we're talking about -- misleading according to you that is.

So why pay doctors and nurses more than subsistence if the service they provide
is "above the free market." You socialists just don't get how the world works
sometimes, as Pirsig took pains to point out.
