Yeah, Ron, your just discussing the motivation that was mentioned. Bows
and arrows, hackers, and hands, yet, in court, motivation is to be
shown, too. So, is it hunting, defense, or pure cold-hearted aggression
to just watch 'em bleed - motivation where value patterns coalesce into
an event.

[Ron}
I grew up in a home where hunting was like gardening, you gardened to
have food in the winter Hunting
was supplying the meat. Outside hunting season my father and I would
roam the woods watch how the
Animals move where they go to drink. We had domesticated animals
chickens, geese,and when the time
Came killed and butchered. I have allways had a respect for animals and
my father tolerated nothing
Less. But killing, SA, if that's what you're getting at, is difficult no
matter what you use. It is
A responsibility to make the kill a clean one this not only more humane
for the animal but have a less
Of a chance ruining the meat by being careless. Fire arms when used
responsibly are a accurate clean
tool to use for hunting. Archery is a much more labor intensive method
requiring skill and respect
for the prey.Much more difficult to make a clean kill.
So
" So, is it hunting, defense, or pure cold-hearted aggression to just

I'd have to say it is niether for me. I suppose the folks with lesser
income usually hunt to suppliment
In winter. It's a matter of neccesity. There is your percentage of
asshole "watch 'em bleed " macho
jerkwads out there who know nothing about the woods and just show up
first day and cause havoc.
their sin is being careless and disrespectful to the environment.
They're allways excited about
the killing part, I dunno I do not like the killing part but it must be
executed with skill and
determination any waver will make it a terrible experience for both you
and your prey. You must
respect the animal. After days of tracking in rough thick terrain to have
missed opportunities
and misses to finally have a open window and make a clean shot..then to
field dress them and
haul it back out before dark and tie it up to drain..and that happens
after many days of coming
home empty handed with nothing to show but briar scratches.."thinking"
about killing deminishes
as you spend time in the woods humpin it. Getting tired, hungry, and
battered by the briars waiting
for hours in the twittering of the woods. Many times, when deer did
wander by, I just watch ...
after hours of imagining them in every snap of a twig, they seem like
spirits that wander
Silently.

I hunt no more because I really do not have to. My father and uncle
still do and I usually get
Venison from them. But if times got tough...
