Is "a person" "a pattern", no.

People are patterns upon patterns upon patterns, ... etc, and some of
those patterns are more or less static than others, static patterns
arise in other more dynamic patterns (resonances / coherences) and not
all those patterns have convenient boundaries at the edge of any one
person.

The bits we call patterns are simply those more long-lived (more
static) aspects of the things in which they emerge as patterns.

In Pirsig's words ...
"although the pattern included the flesh and blood of Chris, that was
not all there was to it. The pattern was larger than Chris and myself,
and related us in ways that neither of us understood completely and
neither of us was in complete control of"
