Life is surely fighting inorganic forces as Pirsig made clear. Left in the
wake of DQ are static patterns which become more static and rigid with the
passage of time. Social patterns are beginning to move towards more rigidity
with a coming conflict between patterns insuring individual freedom vs.
patterns of Muslim fundamentalism. Intellectual patterns are still in a
high state flux with the MOQ being on the cutting edge of new ways of thinking.

Hope this responds to your inquiry.
