No. There's a world of difference between engineering a society towards tyranny
vs. towards individual freedom. Marxists fit the former category. It's the
difference between the Russian revolution and the American revolution.

Maybe you should read Marx, rather that recite talk-radio propaganda.

I don't agree with all of Marx's ideas, but I do know his concern was
individual liberty. Unlike Strauss, however, Marx overestimates the
intelligence and nature of man. Strauss sees people as too weak and stupid and
in need of controlling. Marx saw man as wanting, and demanding, a egalitarian
world. You can criticize Marx for thinking too highly of man, I suppose, and
loft up Strauss to prove how base and selfish we are by nature.

But your talk-radio soundbites are hollow to anyone who has actually read and
studied Marx, or neo-Marxist literature.
