I think these discussions are very interesting. They are exposing a very hot topic that many think about, but rarely discuss because we don't want to be labeled troublemakers or cause trouble/hard feelings, etc. if we discuss them in our own schools.
The thread begins with the questions posed by the students. Personally, I am enjoying the thread. I'm not teaching now and this is a good time to be reflective of the whole nature of teaching. Their questions are not about reading comprehension.
