Stephanie, I do not know if my school is typical, but I would venture to guess that the majority of us are involved in PD of some sort in the summer. Every year my district offers discounted courses on the new initiatives (of which there seem to be endless and copious amounts), and also "summer work" which tends to be developing curriculum for September. This year, all 2-5 grade teachers are to participate in SmartBoard training, for example, and most are doing it this summer. Maureen
