In my district, literacy coaching was an "add-on" position, which we did after 
school or on our breaks.  After 5 years, this position was eliminated because 
of budget constraints.  We hadn't had much turnover in our staff, so most 
people thought our work was done.  At least, we didn't have to pink slip anyone 
this year.
