Just a quick note that today yielded my best warbler species day for any of my
past fall seasons. After just a little over 6 hours at Rapids Lake, I found
19 warbler species. I put in extra effort once I got up to 18 species, but
was only able to add 1 more species(Black-throated Green). The most likely
misses for the day were Blue-winged, Cape May, Bay-breasted, or an early
Yellow-rumped. Otherwise today may have been my best fall species day at
Rapids Lake over the years with 78 species. If you are interested in the
full list with counts and some details, you can check the MOU database or ebird.
