The entry-level iMac (64 MB RAM, 10 GB disk, G3 @ 400 MHz) costs
E1277.72 (incl. VAT) in Germany. That's about $1154. Plus you'd need
more RAM, more disk space, CodeWarrior and Mac OS X.
Let's do the math for a real developer machine with the German prices:
Power Mac G4 533 MHz, 384 MB RAM, 40 GB disk, CD-RW, no modem, GeForce 2
MX, no AirPort, no speakers, 17" display.
E4186,45 (about $3781)
Plus Codewarrior and Mac OS X.
Mac OS X costs E168.21 (about $152). My guestimate for the German price
of CodeWarrior is a bit over $600.
