I have exactly the same problem -- my family are on a dialup connection
with only one phone line, so when at their place I use IMAP offline. But
I often need to visit Bugzilla reports etc, so I need to go on-line each
time I use Navigator.
However, I agree entirely with David Hallowell that allowing separate
on-line/off-line status for separate mail accounts would be a recipe for
tech support chaos, because of the confusion it would cause.
Most of our problem, i think, could be solved by having separate
on-line/off-line statuses for Navigator and Messenger. It may even be a
good idea to make the on-line/off-line UI toggle look different (e.g. in
different positions in the window, and/or with different icons) in the
different Mozilla apps, to make the distinction between the different
statuses clearer.
