Sorting behaviour question

Is Mozilla trying to implement the same article header sort behaviour as
in 4.x?

I ask because I don't like the way Mozilla stays in threaded mode when
you click on a column heading to sort by something such as the date.
Personally I prefer the old way where threading is first turned off
before sorting happens. Naturally clicking on the threading header would
apply threading again, just like it doesn in 4.x.
