I have read Jay explanations. I just don't accept them as adequate to
justify compacting one folder (inbox) when selecting to empty another
(trash).
This whole issue has my head spinning. Why do we need compacting at all
then, if emptying the trash will physically remove all messages that are
marked as deleted. What then does compacting do?
