Hi all, regarding the news client:

Queries or feature requests:
----------------------------
1) How does one trigger it to go fetch new headers for all subscribed
groups?

2) Can one choose the compression on the group names in the mail folders
pane? If the rightmost field of the group name is less than meaningful,
then it can be hard to recognise: a.b.c.general... for example.

3) As per another thread in this ng - how does one skip to, or
recognise, watched threads?

4) Why can't I select the ordering of columns in the display?

5) How do I mark ALL newsgroups read per server or for all servers?

6) Use of colour in the message list window would be good - scanning
down the left side for those little icons with green arrows can be
cumbersome.

8) The ability to select how threads are recognised would be
"interesting". eg. by message reference, or subject, or other... I'm
impressed at the way it does recognise threads compared to others...

11) Can mailnews probe a news server for new groups since date xxx as
opposed to just downloading the whole list again?

Bugs (maybe..):
---------------
7) On my Durn800/256MB/Win2K box, it takes a reasonable amount of time
to switch between groups & do most things. I've seen discussions in
other groups about this in general - is the news client (mail too I
suppose) expecting to see a speed increase in upcoming releases?

9) Relatively often, a group will be listed as having new messages, and
the threads that have green arrows indicating new messages open up to
reveal no new messages, just old ones non-bolded. Is this a bug? I don't
think they were related to other threads.

10) Often mailnews will have finished the previous task, but the combo
hourglass/pointer cursor still remains - seemingly indefinitely. Bug?

12) The ability to view more message header fields in the fluffy gui
header pane would be useful - either selected ones like reference or the
whole lot.

That'll do for now - thanks for a cool product with a cool attitude -
none of this M$ market-driven (which market??) monopolistic rubbish.

Regards, sTu.
