OF COURSE there is such an option; it is greyed out, so ACTUALLY there is none. Mike Kaply has told me that future releases will ungrey it. I don't think that's enough. The installation ought to have the sense to see if there is already e.g. a MOZILLA_HOME line. > >2) If the system was working before without the phrases in PATH and > >LIBPATH, and is working now with them removed, why was it necessary > >for the installation to insert them? > > When they are in the path and libpath, you can start the browser from the > command line, from any directory. This is useful (potentially) for things like > Feature Install, should that ever get updated. I start it from a desktop object, which ought to be general enough. If somebody really wants to start it from a command line, and have the option of doing so from anywhere in the directory structure, my gut feeling is that the onus of putting that into the PATH and LIBPATH ought to be on him. That inflicts minimum restriction of everybody else -- with the emphasis on EVERYBODY. -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel To send me email, please note that email addressed to "SPAM-FOILER" will not reach me, and will not be read.
