Yeah that's kewl, but for serious cpu's only...got a IDT C6/200
here with 2.1.1xx Kernel and it does wierd things while encoding.
It just rebooted my System, arrrgh!
I say backup yer kernel first, hyper-optimized stuff for the brave only.
Encoding gain from 17:47 -> 13:26 not bad !
But the md5sums of the mp3 files differ ;-)

Since i didn't found any charta here, i think such things as
"doesn't compile for me with -O[1..9]" belong here too or
are here any restrictions ?

Are there any plans to port the encoder for pvf?
