Hi,

I dunno what it is, but I notice it too with these problems. I see it with
a shoutcast server, but it isn't in lame.  I can get
capture-->encode-->play all in under about 100 miliseconds.  It stays
pretty consistant that way for days.  I find the problems come in TCP.
