Key word: **endorsement** vacancy. (To distinguish from filling the seat
itself).
Because Ernie Belton was the DFL endorsed candidate, the **party** has a
responsibility to decide whether to endorse another District 2 candidate in
the coming election. This is not an attempt to preclude the commissioners'
power to fill the temporary vacancy that also exists.
