Don't forget the joy of discovery, the air of mystery, social status, and teenage rebellion. Shakespeare told us about teenage love and sex over 300 years ago, but I think it is only the French who ever got the message. Now not only do we have to contend with residual Puritan values, but the New Puritanism of gender feminism. > It may seem to be a liberal clich, but we need to be teaching teens (and some >adults) safer sex and > equipping them for it. Yes, that means clinics in the schools that can dispense >birth control. We should not just be teaching teens about safer sex, we should be teaching them about sex itself. I would support offering the same types of Human Sexuality courses we teach to college students in high schools. I strongly support dispensing birth control in high school. In general, I think we should take a much more pragmatic approach to sexuality (anyone else see "Skipped Parts"?).
