I'm not sure where DQ started, but it could fairly be called a local company
since the locally based Mootys, of Minneapolis-based Gray Plant Mooty (my
wife's law firm) were major investors. Gray Plant's franchise expertise is
pretty much because they got DQ off the ground.

As for social conscience, there's probably a disadvantage there - though
Gray Plant is a very family-friendly firm!!

Although there may appear to be a huge conflict of interest for me here, I
must disclose that I stopped going to DQ when they stopped selling the
chocolate-dipped frozen banana, back when I was a kid.
