A few members have emailed me off list to say they are uncomfortable with
the suggestion of a "day off." Comments are that they feel silence is wrong
at a time when the community should come together, or they don't feel any
particular thing or person should shut the list down.

Craig Miller is a soulful dude. His solid-gold heart is in the right place.
However - and I'm not sure this is entirely contradictory with his original
post - officially, "silence" is voluntary (as it always is here).

Those who want to stay silent, of course can do so; however, anyone who
wants to do so should feel free to post without retaliation or censure
merely for sending something in.
