I am deeply saddened by the death of a respected police officer. I have seen a culture of horrible disrespect on the part of a large minority of police officers that most certainly contributes to the fear and hate people feel towards the police. Death is horrible from any side but I believe the city government desperately needs to reevaluate the cowboy culture that as been allowed to breed in the police department and make the protect and serve motto real again for the people of mpls. I know once the populice feels the police are here to help we will see far less violence than we do today and perhaps those officers who truely believe in protecting and serving will be safe to do so.
