Oh, please.  I agree with you that Phyllis Kahn has done some good things
over the years, but HF 67 is certainly not among them.  Her tirades against
the Greens on several occasions far outweigh any principled cries she makes
regarding "one person, one vote."

She's been in the House forever.  She knew not just from theory, but from
personal experience that this redistricting issue was going to come up.  But
she waited until after the 2001 elections and after some of her DFL
counterparts were knocked off their perches before trying to do anything
about it.  

If Rep. Kahn wants to represent her constituency, she'll focus her
considerable energies on making sure any LGA cuts to Minneapolis are not
based on a budget that counts enterprise funds or taxes to pay off bonds on
things like the Convention Center as Terrell Brown detailed yesterday.

If Rep. Kahn really wants to represent her constituency, she'll support the
call by U of MN President Bruininks to eliminate the Higher Education
Services Office and work to ensure that the state budget is not balanced on
the backs of U of MN students, her constituents.
