Hello Minneapolis Folks:

I agree this is the last thing our city needs. I am
positive Representative Kahn believes she is making
the right decision with this legislation. She has a
record of challenging power structures within the DFL
and outside of it, so I doubt she is trying to win any
points. I am complete confused how she thinks this
will help our city.

Thank goodness this is a democracy and we can
disagree. I think she is wrong about this legislation.

The city has serious financial difficulties caused by
many years of neglect and mismanagement, this bill
will only take time away from solving those problems.

I am still upset with the redistricting folks. Not a
single person testified they wanted their City Council
member drawn out of their ward! This wasn't done to
create better representation. The goal was to create
conflict and less representation for the public. They
have succeeded.

They have created conflict between the most diverse
and progressive members of the council. This
legislation just helps to divide people, and that is
not in the best interest of our city, its in the best
interest conservatives. I am sure Representative Kahn
has not had a hard time finding Republican co-authors
for this legislation.

I have asked this question in the past, but once
again, has any other city in the state faced a similar
problem because of the census and redistricting?
