This came over the wires from the e-newsletter, The Minneapolis Observor.
"SCHOOL MAY HONOR WELLSTONE WITH NAME CHANGE
Marcy Open School in Southeast Minneapolis is considering changing its name
to honor the late Senator Paul Wellstone.
The move is being discussed by a group of parents and staff members,
reports One Nation News (http://www.onenationnews.com). "Wellstone embodied
many of the traits and qualities taught at Marcy Open School, respect for
the individual, importance of education, celebrating diversity, and
compassion for the world," said a representative of the group, which met
for the first time March 6. A name change would require the approval of the
school board."
The reason I bring this up is that there has been some current/informal discussion about the possibility of naming a school/park/community center complex at the Bethune site  in Heritage Park after the Wellstone's with something like the Wellstone Family Center.
Anyone have more thoughts or considerations on this topic - where should a Wellstone Community Memorial be in Minneapolis?
