The Sandstone branch of the East Central library is having a "Sandstone Antiques Roadshow" next week. For two hours, an appraiser will inspect one antique per customer. There's no fee, so it's not raising revenue for the library, but it is generating a lot of interest and excitement. A board of Friends of the Library came up with this idea.
Would such an idea work for Mpls, perhaps in a regional library? Would customers be willing to pay a fee? If not, would the excitement be enough to raise interest and awareness?
